About Chelsea
I’ve lived up in the Columbus/Worthington area my whole life. I went to Worthington Christian School and graduated with the class of 2008. This Spring I will graduate from Shawnee State University’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. This summer, I plan of finishing up my Bachelor’s degree in Individualized Studies with a concentration in Health Care Management and spending time with my hubby. I enjoy being active, spending time with family and friends, and making lists- they are my specialty!
About Jordan
I grew up in Ohio’s first capital, Chillicothe. I went to Unioto HIgh School (No, “Unioto is not Japanese). I currently am studying to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Shawnee State University. I plan on graduating this spring alongside my love Chelsea. I enjoy golfing, fishing, reading, and performing my activities of daily living with at least modified independence. But, most of all i enjoy spending time with the woman God sent to me Chelsea LaMonte.

How they got engaged
On October 26, 2011, Jordan woke up and decided today was the day he would propose to me. It started off as any other day in Portsmouth, stressful! We had a big test in one of our OTA classes, which Jordan told me later he couldn’t focus on because the excitement of his proposal was so great. After the test was the same-old-same, we chit-chated about some of the exam questions and our plans for later. I had another class later that day and was planning on studying for another tests until then, but to my excitement, the class was unexpectedly cancelled. However, Jordan didn’t quite have the same reaction. You see, by not having class that night, I had sped up his time line for the “big question”. Originally he had planned to meet me by the fountain on campus after my class. But, since it was pouring down rain and my class was cancelled, he would have to come up with another idea.
It just so happened that Jordan went to a barber shop in town to get his hair cut that day. After that, around, 6 p.m., he stopped by the apartment to tell me some exciting news! He said that while he was at the barber, he met a man who was meeting a family in the park to sell them a kitten from one of the litters. Jordan said that the man would allow us to come to the park to play with the other kittens while he was there but we had to hurry.
When we got there it was dark, but the rain had lightened up some since earlier in the day. As we pulled around to the gazebo, there appeared to be some sketchy drama unfolding before our eyes. We discussed the possibilities of it being a drug deal and decided to stay in the car until we saw the man with the kittens. The fact that it was dark and rainy, and we were meeting up with a total stranger never crossed my mind, probably because I was so excited about the kittens. Well, after about 10 minutes of waiting in the car, not seeing the man with the kittens, and the drug drug deal in full swing, we decided to slowly make our way around the park to the gazebo in hopes that he man with the kittens would notice us and the drug dealers would disperse without further conflict.
Once we made it to the gazebo and were alone, we were able to take in the stillness of the park. It was actually quite romantic knowing that we had the whole place to ourselves. As we kissed and embraced one another, Jordan began to tell me how much he loved me, and how he knew he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life. Then he mentioned that there really wasn’t a man with kittens coming to the park. And just as he finished that sentence, he got down on one knee, pulled out a small square box from his pocket, and asked, “Chelsea, will you marry me?”. In my head I’m thinking, “So, no kittens!” and “What! Is this our ring? How did he get it already?” In fact, it was not “our ring” . It was a small gold band with small detailing around a small diamond. A ring he had bought from the pawnshop just hours before. And it was perfect. I was so caught up in all the excitement that Jordan had to ask, “Are you going to say ‘yes’?” Well of course I did! No, I didn’t cry, but I was singing and jumping and laughing all the way back to the car. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day or a more perfect proposal… unless there were kittens involved.
